It is almost possible to say that there is a mathematical relationship between the beauty of his surroundings and the activity of the child; he will make discoveries rather more voluntarily in a gracious setting than in an ugly one.

Our Environment

MLC Prep has a forward-thinking approach to school design. The school environment is a key aspect of how children learn and interact with one another and the world around them. That’s why we have emphasized an equal importance to both indoor and outdoor learning.

MLC Prep is an environment filled with warmth and beauty. It’s a welcoming place with a sense of community, carefully designed to help children thrive and put a smile on their faces. Resources and spaces invite children to play, explore, discover, learn and grow.

The Classrooms: Our classrooms are bright, beautiful and spacious places. They are interactive environments, accommodating the wide range of resources necessary to run a strong school program. Materials support concrete exploration which leads to both practical skills and abstract knowledge.

Spaces include accessible furniture, a variety of work spaces, and wooden shelves displaying beautiful materials that call for the children to handle them. A pantry and sink within each classroom provides children the opportunity to learn practical life skills such as preparing their own snacks.

We have also elevated the importance of outdoor learning. Every classroom has seamless access to a beautiful teak patio that blends an indoor and outdoor learning experience.

The School: The School design reflects our vision of being a green school. Several interconnected courtyards run throughout the school, balancing the built-up and open spaces. Nature trails weave through the Secret Garden, a 2-acre forest bordered by a river at the base of the school. This forest brings outdoor learning and a green school ethos to a whole new level. Children benefit from being in nature while developing a strong environmental consciousness.
